The Taubenvatta monument is a multi-part bronze monument in the town of Castrop-Rauxel .

It shows a pigeon father taking care of his racing pigeons . It was set in 1986 on a newly created square on Obere Münsterstrasse, Kuopio Square. The sculpture is designed in two parts and connects to the gable of the adjacent corner house. There is another pigeon in a dovecote . Immediately next to the monument, a historic fountain was rediscovered through excavation work during the redesign of the upper Münsterstrasse . There a fountain of roughly the same diameter has been created, the water of which flows through a cascade-like watercourse.

The breeding of pigeons, especially the pigeon sport, was a popular pastime among the miners of the Ruhr area - a memorial was erected here.
