Jacob Immanuel Pyra
Jacob Immanuel Pyra (* 25. July 1715 in Cottbus ; † 14. July 1744 in Berlin ) was a German poet of the Enlightenment . Pyra became known among other things for his pamphlets directed against Johann Christoph Gottsched . In his poems he can be assigned to sensitivity .
From 1734 to 1738 Pyra studied theology in Halle . In addition, he worked as a private tutor and founded an association for the promotion of the German language and was a co-founder of the first Halle poet group . In 1742 he became vice-principal at the Köllnisches Gymnasium in Berlin.
