Team17 Group PLC is a British computer game - developer , based in Wakefield, England, the u. a. is known for the Worms series. Other well-known games are Assassin, Miami Chase, Kingpin: Arcade Sports Bowling, Project X, Superfrog and the Alien Breed series.

Team17 was founded in 1990 as a limited company . Initially, the company was briefly named 17Bit Software and Team 7 International, shortly afterwards it was renamed Team17 Software and kept this name until it was renamed Team17 Digital Limited in 2012. In 2018, the legal form was changed to a Public Limited Company and thus accompanying the renaming in Team17 Group . Team17's first game, released in 1991, was called Full Contact and was a beating game . The game was distributed by Seventeen Bit Software . Games likeAssassin (Action) and the Alien Breed series (Action). The first Worms game appeared in 1995 for the Commodore Amiga . Further implementations followed, for example for MS-DOS , Windows , the Sony PlayStation and the Xbox from Microsoft . Worms merchandise items are also available.

In August 2015 Team17 released the adventure game Beyond Eyes , which is about a ten year old girl who is blind after an accident. In January 2019, the company released the open-world game My Time At Portia .

On August 2, 2016, Team17 released the game Overcooked! for Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and on July 27, 2017 for the Nintendo Switch.

The successor to Overcooked! 2 was released on August 7, 2018 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows, Mac, Linux and Xbox One.

Team17 took over Moldy Toof Studios in 2016. In 2020, Yippee Entertainment was acquired for £ 1.4 million.
