Alien Breed is an action computer game series , first published in 1991.
The British software company Team17 released the game for the Amiga and the PC . The game was developed by Andreas Tadic, the design comes from Rico Holmes.
Game description
In the game you fight your way from a bird's eye view through several levels of a space station that is infested by bloodthirsty aliens . At computer terminals scattered throughout the game, you can buy new weapons or health bonuses with earned points. The atmosphere of the game is closely based on the movie Aliens - The Return . The graphics and the sound effects were very good for their time. Alien Breed was one of the first games that used or required the Amiga's memory expansion to 1 MB. In the following years several successors came on the market, including the Special Edition 92 , Alien Breed 2 , Alien Breed: Tower Assault as well as Alien Breed 3D (1995) and Alien Breed 3D 2: The Killing Grounds (1996).
Remakes
In December 2009, the title Alien Breed Evolution was released for the Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Arcade . Technically, this is based on the Unreal Engine , but the look is based on the arcade past of the predecessor with a view from above . In June 2010, Alien Breed Evolution was released on Steam under the name Alien Breed: Impact . A publication in the PlayStation Network shop followed on September 1, 2010. At the end of September 2010, the successor Alien Breed 2: Assault appeared on the Steam network, and in mid-November 2010 with Alien Breed 3: Descent, the third part of the trilogy, also on Steam. The second and third parts also use Unreal Engine 3.
