Acrobatics of a team aerobics group

Team aerobics is the competitive form of classic fitness aerobics . Team aerobics is trained and presented in a group. In aerobics, essential fitness components such as endurance, strength, flexibility and coordination are combined with music and choreography . Aerobics trains the cardiovascular system , strengthens the most important muscle groups and improves mobility. All movements are always carried out in a way that is gentle on the joints. Team aerobics is a mix between gymnastics and dance .

The goal in a competition is to demonstrate a complex sequence of movements without interrupting the music. An exercise must contain all the necessary elements (such as strength, acrobatics, flexibility, high and low impact) and also be creative and original.

The aerobics team counts as a gymnastics sport and is represented nationally by the Swiss Gymnastics Association (STV), comparable to sports aerobics in Germany.

history

Käthi Murer (long-time STV functionary) saw aerobics demonstrations at the German Gymnastics Festival in Hamburg in 1994. This convinced her so much that she wanted to bring aerobics to Switzerland. No sooner said than done - four years later the first Swiss Aerobics Cup was held.

Forms of exposure (low and high)

As in classic aerobics, there are two different forms of exercise.

  • Low-Impact: The basic step from low-impact is marching. At least one foot is always on the ground during all steps. The steps are usually rolled from the heel to the ball of the foot:
  • High-Impact: The basic step of high-impact is jogging. In contrast to the low-impact, the feet are not always on the ground. The high-impact forms of movement are running, hopping and jumping. It is important that all jumps are always well cushioned.

Both forms are mixed in a competition program. It is important to carry out the techniques exactly. Performing the steps makes up a large part of the competitive grade.

Basic steps

Low impact:

  • Marching
  • Walking
  • Side to side
  • mambo
  • Step touch
  • V- and A-Step
  • Leg curl
  • Knee lift
