Sports aerobics

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sport aerobics (English: Aerobic Gymnastics ) is the competitive form of aerobics . The aim is to demonstrate complex and highly intense movement patterns, which have their origins in traditional fitness aerobics, without interruption, accompanied by music. An exercise (freestyle) must combine creativity with the perfect integration of all movements, music and expressiveness.

Sport aerobics counts as a gymnastics sport and is represented in Germany by the German Gymnastics Federation (DTB) and in Austria by the Austrian Association for Gymnastics (ÖFT).

Age groups and starting categories

Internationally there are three age groups: Age Group 1 (12 to 14 years), Age Group 2 (15 to 17 years) and the seniors (18 years and older). At the national level, gymnastics is also carried out in younger age groups. In the younger categories the competition music is 75 seconds long (± 5 seconds), in the age groups of 12 to 14 year olds (and older) 90 seconds (± 5 seconds).

In international competitions, there are 3 starting categories: sport aerobics, aerobic DANCE and aerobic STEP.

Sports aerobics

The traditional sport aerobics is held in the following starting categories: individual men, individual women, mixed couple, trio, group (4–5). Every sport aerobics choreography consists of the seven basic steps, which are performed in variations and combined with arms / hands. The aim is not to repeat any combinations of steps. The basic steps are choreographically linked with the elements (of the groups push-ups, supports, jumps and mobility). In every age group and category there are prescribed elements that must be shown in the choreography. The number and degree of difficulty vary depending on the age group.

Aerobic DANCE & Aerobic STEP

The competitions Aerobics DANCE and Aerobics STEP have been an international competition for the first time with the 2012 World Cup in Sofia and have been firmly anchored in the international rules of sport aerobics since 2013.

A choreography that is 80 seconds (± 5 seconds) long is shown in a group of 6-8 people. In addition to the traditional aerobic steps, Aerobic DANCE allows 3 sets of acrobatic elements, a part of another dance type (hip hop, line dance) and difficulty elements. Aerobic STEP shows a choreography of steps to music.

Competition area

The competition area is 7 × 7 m or 10 × 10 m in size, depending on the age or the starting category.

rating

The jury consists of a D, an A and an E jury for each exercise. The D (ifficulty) jury evaluates the difficulty elements, i.e. H. the elements that are included in the freestyle (e.g. push-ups, supports, jumps or mobility elements). The A (rtistic) jury evaluates the artistic value, i. H. Choreography, music selection, presentation or interactions. The E (xecution) jury finally assesses the execution - how nicely / cleanly / correctly are the elements of difficulty or the basic steps presented? The A and E grades have a maximum value of 10.0 each, the D grade is open at the top. The grades for the world's best athletes usually range between 19.0 and 22.0 points.

The elements of the difficulty grade are divided into A- (0.1 points), B- (0.2 points) etc. to I-elements (1.0 points) for the elite.

Only elements of difficulty that meet the minimum criteria are included in the grade. The same applies to the artistry grade - you can only get top grades for an artistically excellent exercise. In the execution grade, all visual errors are subtracted from the maximum 10.0 - in a range of 0.1 to 0.5 points, depending on the severity of the error. All exercises are entered in the forms provided for them using certain symbols. These forms serve as an aid to the Difficulty Judges.

International representation and development

Internationally, the sport aerobics is just as General Gymnastics , Artistic Gymnastics , Trampoline Gymnastics , rhythmic gymnastics and sports acrobatics by the International Federation de Gymnastique (FIG, International Gymnastics Federation) and the European Union of Gymnastics (UEG, European Gymnastics Union) represented. In 1995 the first aerobics world championships were held.
