Sports aerobics in Austria
In Austria sport aerobics has been represented by the Austrian Association for Gymnastics since 1999 . An Austrian championship was held for the first time in 2000.
Austrian Aerobic Open
Since 2003 Austria has hosted the annual Austrian Aerobic Open, which has already become a fixed point in the FIG calendar . This competition will take place in Kufstein in 2012 and will be recognized by the FIG as a World Cup for the first time.
In 2005, the Amateur Aerobics Contest was also launched, a recreational sport competition for popular aerobics that organizes both a dance and a step competition.
Austrian athletes
Austria's best athletes have been represented at international championships, world championships and world cups since 2001. First and foremost Lubi Gazov : At the end of 2005 she won an U18 World Cup (in Mexico) for the first time and in 2006 she won the World Aerobic Showcase in Los Angeles. In addition to a 3rd place in the 2007 World Cup in Los Angeles, she was second in both the 2008 Grand Prix in France and in 2011 the World Cup in Las Vegas. In 2011 she was fourth at the European Championships in Bucharest.
Training locations and performance centers
Sport aerobics is currently represented in six Austrian federal states: Upper Austria , Lower Austria , Tyrol , Vienna , Carinthia and Vorarlberg . The most important training centers are located in Linz , Stockerau and Wörgl .
