The Teasdale Corrie is an east-west extension about 600 m long and north-south about 500 m wide mountain basin in the south of King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located 480 m north-northeast of the Cinder Spur . On its north side, it is flanked by the towering rocky outcrops of the Dunikowski Ridge . The basin, which geologists mistakenly believed to be a volcanic crater , was exposed by the retreat of the glacial ice. It contains a number of small lakes on its southern edge that are fed by seasonal meltwater.
It is named after Andrew Teasdale (* 1966), field research assistant for the British Antarctic Survey , who worked in this area between January and April 1996.
