The Teatro Principal is a theater in Zamora , a Spanish city ​​in the Autonomous Community of Castile and León , that opened in 1876. The building at 3 Calle San Vicente has been a protected architectural monument since 1982 ( Bien de Interés Cultural ).

history

Before the new theater was built according to the plans of the architect Eugenio Durán, there were only modest venues for theatrical productions. After the small theater no longer met modern requirements in the early 1980s, demolition was considered. It was bought by the city of Zamora in 1984 and was able to reopen after the renovation in 1988.
