The Petronas University of Technology (UTP) (formerly Universiti Teknologi Petronas) in Teronoh, Perak State , is a private technical university in Malaysia and is now a university with approximately 8400 students. The university is owned by Petronas , the state-owned Malaysian oil company founded in 1974 .
history
In April 1995, the Institute of Technology Petronas was founded by the petroleum company Petronas as a tertiary educational institution to offer technical courses. Studies began in July 1995 with 65 students. Ref name = "history" /> The administration and teaching buildings were at Petronas in Bangi and the laboratories of Putra University of Malaysia and National University of Malaysia were used. The constitution as a university took place on January 10, 1997 under the Private Higher Learning Institution Act .

The highest authority of the university management is the board of directors , which determines the fundamental direction of the university. The Pro Chancellor is an honorary position and is filled by a well-known personality.
