The technical advisory service is one of the specialist services of the integration offices .

He advises employers , severely disabled people and the company integration team, as well as other people involved in the participation of severely disabled people in working life, on technical, organizational and ergonomic questions of employment and on establishing accessibility. He supports them by developing concrete proposals for solutions.

tasks

The technical advisory service essentially has the task of

  • identify disability-friendly workplaces in companies and departments,
  • Adapt workplaces and the working environment to the needs of the severely disabled employee by proposing technical, organizational and ergonomic measures (such as redesigning the workplace or using technical aids),
  • to contribute to the creation of new jobs for severely disabled people who are hired or implemented in-house,
  • to support severely disabled people with the disability-friendly structural design of their apartments (housing assistance) and the disability-friendly equipment of their vehicles (vehicle assistance) and
  • To hold seminars and educational offers for representatives of severely disabled people , works and staff councils, employer's inclusion officers and other employees involved in the participation of severely disabled people in working life in companies and departments.

Required knowledge and cooperation

The wide range of activities of the technical advisory service requires not only engineering-specific knowledge, but also knowledge of ergonomics, occupational medicine and industrial psychology (especially about the type and impact of disabilities in relation to physical, mental and psychological work), as well as knowledge of occupational safety and business administration . The technical advisory service works according to QUASI , a manual for quality assurance based on DIN EN ISO 9001: 2000. He works closely with the operational integration team, the specialists for occupational safety and the safety officers in the companies and departments.

The technical service of the employment agencies is active u. a. in vocational counseling, training and job placement for severely disabled people and rehabilitation candidates as well as in checking the requirements for equality.
