The Technology and Start-up Center Oldenburg (TGO) was opened in January 2003 on Marie-Curie-Straße in the immediate vicinity of the University of Oldenburg . After the first extension building went into operation seven years later, around 70 companies are based on an area of ​​around 11,000 square meters. The TGO is thus the largest institution of its kind in Lower Saxony . In addition to the city of Oldenburg (Oldenburg) , the shareholders include the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, the Jade University of Applied Sciences Wilhelmshaven / Oldenburg / Elsfleth and several companies from Oldenburg.

TGO managing director Jürgen Bath has also been chairman of the Technologie-Centren Niedersachsen eV (VTN) association since September 3, 2010. It has 30 technology and / or start-up centers as well as four other members from the innovation sector.
