Tec2You
The nationwide young talent initiative Tec2You ( TectoYou until 2014 ) offers young people a platform to deal with important topics in the field of technology and innovation and to establish contacts with the economy. It is a joint project of the Deutsche Messe in Hanover and the " Germany - Land of Ideas " initiative from the Federation of German Industries. V. (BDI) under the patronage of Johanna Wanka , Federal Minister for Education and Research. Well-known partners from politics, business and science create work for young talent in direct contact with adolescents and young adults. Numerous institutions, industry associations and well-known companies have also joined the initiative as partners and are promoting the project.
aims
Tec2You aims to contribute to counteracting the growing shortage of young talent in engineering and other technical professions. Young people are informed about opportunities and future perspectives in the various professions in the technology industry and are supported in the transition from school to the professional world. First-year students also have the opportunity to be supported by Tec2You as a specially created dialogue platform in their choice of specializations.
Excursions
School lessons can be shifted to the Hannover Messe for one day . In order to prepare the students for the visit of the world's most important technology fair, sponsorships are established between schools and companies. Additional teaching material also supports the teachers of the participating school classes in preparing the excursion.
Guided tours
The guided tours “guarantee” students intensive personal support on site:
- Every group from a year or a class that wants to come to the Hanover Fair with Tec2You travels with a sponsored bus from a sponsored company.
- At the Hanover Fair , the groups are welcomed by qualified Tec2You guides and taken to locations at the fair that are geared to their interests or focus.
- In career counseling interviews, lectures and hands-on experiments, they learn a lot about technical professions.
- In direct discussions with apprentices, dual students and engineers from the company, visitors receive further important information at first hand.
Each group is provided with a personal Tec2You guide with advice and practical help throughout the day. He helps with orientation, informs and leads the group - starting with the greeting to the farewell on the bus.
Project implementation
In April 2007 Tec2You took place for the first time as part of the Hanover Fair . As the world's largest technology show, the Hanover Fair offers the perfect setting for professional contact between school and business. The content of Tec2You is a wide range of information and action programs suitable for young people. This includes presentations, experiments, competitions and activities with experts from a wide variety of companies as well as information events about vocational training, qualification standards and courses. Young employees of the participating initiatives, associations and companies, the main actors of Tec2You, are always available to answer questions.
