Literature research

Teichmannsdorf became a desert after the 14th century because the pond men settled under Ehrenstein Castle . Since then, the name of the castle has gradually been carried over to the settlement at the foot of the castle, but the name Teichmannsdorf still appears until the 17th century.

Here is a literary opinion:

  • In the dry years the pond men scoffed that their chambers were full, we buy the price because they had harvested well. When the mockers' ponds dried up, they lost all fish.
  • Then it rained for weeks. The mud huts of the simple farmers stood on the meadow slope and stopped. The pond men’s great farms down by the water collapsed.

That is why the residents moved to the foot of the Ehrenstein Castle Hill.
