Telecom Argentina was founded on November 8th, 1990 following a tender for telecommunications licenses by the government of Argentina.

history

In 1948, under President Juan Domingo Perón, all private telecommunications companies were nationalized and the Teléfonos des Estado formed. This was renamed Empresa Nacional de Telecommunicaciones (ENTel) in 1957 . In 1990, ENTel was privatized and divided into a southern and a northern company ( Sociedad Licenciataria Norte SA ). Nortel Inversora SA was founded on November 8, 1990 in the north .
