The Teleservices Data Protection Act (TDDSG) regulates the data protection of users of teleservices . It came into force together with the Teleservices Act and the Signature Act as part of the Information and Communication Services Act (IuKDG) of July 22, 1997 ( Federal Law Gazette I, p. 1870 ). It was replaced on March 1, 2007 by the Telemedia Act.

Affected by the Teleservices Data Protection Act were, among other things, the imprint of a page, the collection of server statistics, all types of process management, such as B. Contact forms in which the user enters personal data.

According to the original plans, the Teleservices Data Protection Act was to be replaced by the new Telemedia Act in 2005 . However, due to the dissolution of the 15th German Bundestag , this requirement was not complied with.
