Brule County is a district in the state of South Dakota in the United States . The population in 2000 was 5,364. The county seat in Chamberlain .

The county covers an area of ​​2,192 square kilometers; 71 square kilometers (3.25 percent) of this is water.

history

The county was established on January 14, 1875. It is named after the Brulé tribe, who are part of the Lakota .

The Holy Trinity Church is one of six entries of the county in the NRHP.

Six buildings and sites in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) (as of July 30, 2018).
