Chamberlain is a city in Brule County in South Dakota in the United States .

Chamberlain is the seat of the county government of Brule County and is on the left, here the east bank, of the Missouri River . Chamberlain was founded in 1881, named after Selah Chamberlain , a railroad entrepreneur. In the city is the South Dakota Hall of Fame .

Only a few kilometers north of Chamberlain is the National Historic Landmark with the excavations for the Crow Creek Massacre .
