Edmunds County is a county in the north of the US state South Dakota in the United States . According to an official estimate from July 1, 2006, it has a population of 4,062. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat ) is in Ipswich .

history

The county was formed on January 8, 1873 and the administrative organization was completed on July 27, 1883. It is named after the politician Newton Edmunds , who was among other things governor of the Dakota Territory .

The Bank Of Bowdle is one of eleven entries for the county in the NRHP.

Eleven structures and sites in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) (as of July 31, 2018).
