Douglas County , a county in the state of South Dakota in the United States , is named after the politician Stephen A. Douglas . 3458 inhabitants live here.
Armor , the county seat of the county, was founded in 1885. It is named after the meat manufacturer Philip Danforth Armor Sr. (1832-1901) and had 699 inhabitants at the 2010 census .

The county covers an area of 1,845 square kilometers; 2 square kilometers (0.14 percent) of this is water. It is divided into 14 townships: Belmont, Chester, Clark, East Choleau, Garfield, Grandview, Holland, Independence, Iowa, Joubert, Lincoln, Valley, Walnut Grove, and Washington.
