Televisión Nacional de Chile (TVN) (National Television Company of Chile) is Chile's national television station. It was founded by order of President Eduardo Frei Montalva and launched nationwide on September 18, 1969 . Since then, the company has been restructured several times and its areas of activity have grown over the years, becoming a leading television broadcaster in Chile and South America.

Law 17 377 of 1970 established that TVN must be a public, autonomous, pluralistic and representative public service. In 2018, with the adoption of Law 21 085, amendments were introduced that established the obligation to promote national cultural identity, values of democracy, human rights, concern for the environment and respect for diversity.
