Teliga Island ( English ; Polish Wyspa Teligi ) is a small island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It lies between the Atherton Islands and Sygit Point off the John Paul II coast of King George Island .
Polish scientists named her after Karol Teliga, engineer on the Polish Antarctic expedition, which was carried out between 1977 and 1978, and deputy head of the research trip that was being prepared from 1980 to 1981.
