Telis Mistakidis

Aristotelis Telis Mistakidis ( Greek Αριστοτέλης Μυστακίδης ) (* 1962 in Rome ) is a Greek metal trader who became a billionaire as an employee of Glencore . He is a Greek and British citizen.

Life

Mistakidis was born in Italy where his father, a marine biologist, worked for the United Nations . He studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science .

Career

Mistakidis worked as a metal dealer for Cargill for six years . In 1993 he joined Marc Rich & Co shortly before a management buyout and the company was renamed Glencore. He worked in the zinc, copper and lead department, where he became co-head in 2000. He became a billionaire when Glencore went public in May 2011. Mistakidis is on the boards of Glencore, Mopani Copper Mines Limited, Portovesme SRL and Recylex SA. He is a consultant to Katanga Mining and Xstrata plc.

In December 2018, Mistakidis retired as Head of Copper Marketing for Glencore.
