Telkom Indonesia ( PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia ) is an Indonesian company based in Bandung .

history

The company operates in the telecommunications industry and was founded in 1991 by the Indonesian government and is now half state and half private. So far, the company has a state monopoly on local and long-distance calls in Indonesia. The Indonesian government plans to give up this monopoly and deregulate the telecommunications market in Indonesia.

On August 7, 2018, a Telkom Indonesia-funded satellite named Merah Putih was launched into orbit from Cape Canaveral . It will be positioned above Karimata Street and will be performing C-band broadcasts. Telkom Indonesia also owns the Telkom-2 and Telkom 3S satellites.
