The tell bee ( Apis mellifera intermissa ) is a subspecies of the honey bee in North Africa . The distribution area extends from Morocco to the east of Libya and also to southern Spain .

morphology

Apis mellifera intermissa is morphologically similar to the very closely related subspecies Apis mellifera sahariensis ( Sahara bee ), but it has yellow rings on its abdomen. At the. intermissa , on the other hand, is almost black.
