The Telomian is not from the FCI recognized dog breed in Malaysia .

Origin and history

These dogs are domestic dogs for the indigenous population in the broader sense: They live in the villages with people and take care of themselves from waste. In doing so, they keep the villages free from snakes and other pests. In 1963, the first of these dogs came to the USA as the first parents of a breed to be created, first under laboratory conditions, and from around 1970 also in public. A Telomian Dog Club was founded and a second pair of dogs was brought in. There are also a small number of lovers of this breed in Germany.

description

These are dogs up to 48 cm tall and 13 kg heavy, which could be closely related to the New Guinea dingo and the Australian dingo . They are also counted among the pariah dogs: forehead wrinkles, almond-shaped eyes, square body shape. They usually come into heat once a year. Communication is more like growling, howling and barking like a dingo or a wolf. It is monosyllabic and rare. The fur is smooth and short, of all shades from brown to black, with white markings, sometimes brindle or speckled. Well socialized, they are good family dogs and even prove themselves on the racetrack at speeds of up to 56 km / h.
