The Temple of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts is the oldest surviving building of American Freemasonry and is located in Boston , Massachusetts .

The original building, Winthrop House, was a former hotel that was renamed Freemason's Hall on December 27, 1859 . When it burned down in April 1864, a new building in an early neo-Gothic style was erected and inaugurated on June 24, 1867. This building burned down on September 7, 1895 and so the current building was rebuilt in the same place, the foundation stone of which was laid on June 8, 1898. It was completed and inaugurated in a Masonic ceremony in the "Corinthian Hall" inside the building on December 27, 1899. This varies in contrast to the facade, the classical language of forms.

The interior of the building is also remarkably furnished. It houses a research library on Freemasonry and historical Freemason artifacts, as well as the office of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts.
