Tennessee Tornado in Dollywood ( Pigeon Forge , Tennessee , USA ) is a steel roller coaster of the Custom Looping Coaster model made by Arrow Dynamics , which opened on April 17, 1999.
The 818 m long track, adapted to the terrain, was built in a valley where the Thunder Express roller coaster was previously located. Since there were several years between the construction of the Tennessee Tornado and the last looping roller coaster constructed by Arrow, Arrow designed new elements and a new track layout. These include two over- sloping curves and a 34 m high spiro loop , which is considered the highest inversion on all Arrow tracks.
Trains
The trains each have seven cars. Four people (two rows) can be seated in each car. Shoulder straps are used as a restraint system. In 2008, video cameras were installed in the first three rows of seats in the trains to film the passengers while they were traveling. After the journey, passengers can watch the videos and upload them to YouTube .
