Tente was a Lego- like building block system produced in Spain , which was sold in Europe in the late 1970s and early 1980s .

The main difference to LEGO was that the round knobs on the bricks still had a small hole in the middle, into which components could also be inserted, e.g. B. filigree flagpoles on ships. The bricks had the same external dimensions as LEGO bricks. However, the systems were not compatible with each other because the knobs on Tente were larger, ie the wall thicknesses were also thinner. In direct comparison to LEGO, the plug-in system was less robust - the more special the components used, the more likely they were to fall off again. In terms of content, Tente's offer was also similar to that of LEGO; there were vehicles, spaceships, robots, but also, unlike LEGO, kits with military themes.

Tente kits were occasionally available in Germany until at least the end of the 1980s.
