Teong-Kim Lim (born August 26, 1963 in Malacca , Malaysia ) is a former Malaysian national soccer player who is currently employed as an assistant coach of the U-19s at FC Bayern Munich .

Player career

Club career

Teong-Kim Lim began his professional career at the age of 17 in his hometown with Melaka FA . He then played for Selangor FA before moving to Hertha BSC in Germany for one season in 1987 . Under Jürgen Sundermann , Teong-Kim Lim could not fight for a place in the regular eleven in the Berlin amateur league . After the established rise of the Herthaners Lim returned to his home country for the Kuala Lumpur FA . He then went to Negeri Sembilan FA before moving to Kedah FA in 1992 , where he ended his career after a year.

National team career

Teong-Kim Lim played a total of 75 games for the Malaysian national team . Lim celebrated his greatest success in the national team's jersey by winning the football tournament at the Southeast Asian Games in 1989 , in which he scored the decisive 2-1 in the final against Singapore .

Coaching career

In 1995, Teong-Kim Lim moved to Germany and looked after the first team at SV Puchheim . In 2000, Lim was discovered by Dettmar Cramer , who helped Lim to a contract as a youth coach at Bayern Munich .
