Teqball

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Teqball is a ball sport in which a soccer ball is played as a return game over an arched teqball table, combining the elements of soccer and table tennis. It can be played by two single players, four players in doubles or several players in a round. The ball may be touched three times before it is returned to the opponent's table top. Any part of the body can be used to play the ball except the arm and hand. Mainly used are the feet, knees, head and chest. A point is scored if the opponent drops the ball, cannot return it, or breaks other rules.

Teqball is organized internationally by the Fédération Internationale de Teqball (FITEQ). Efforts are being made to introduce the sport at the Olympics.

The introduction of the teqball table has also established other sports, e.g. B. Teqvoly .

history

Two Hungarian soccer fans, Gábor Borsányi, a former professional soccer player, and Viktor Huszár, a computer specialist, introduced Teqball in 2015. Ronaldinho was an early fan and helped popularize the game. It is now part of training for many football professionals.

Furnishing

The Teqball table (Teqboard) was developed specifically for the game. It resembles a table tennis table, but has a curved surface. Its length is 3 m, the width 1.7 m, with a net dividing it into two equal halves. The height of the table is 0.76 m in the middle and 0.565 m on the long edges. The "net" is made of Plexiglas and is 0.14 m high. The official game is a size 5 soccer ball.

regulate

Rules are set by FITEQ.

The teqball table is in the center of the playing field. The player who serves has two tries. After four serves, the service is changed. The played ball must touch the opposing half of the table once and then be returned without touching the ground. The player must not touch the ball with the same part of the body twice. During the rally, a party may not touch the ball more than three times before the ball is played to the opponent.

A set has 20 points and a game has three sets. A rally with an edgeball (the ball hits the edge of the table) is repeated. Touching the table or the opponent is not allowed.
