Nicole Rocha Silveira (born May 7, 1994 ) is a Brazilian skeleton pilot and former bobsledder .
Career
Career as a bobsledder
For the 2017/18 season Nicole Rocha Silveira switched to bobsleigh and became Heather Suzanne Paes' pusher . The two women contested their first joint competition on November 14, 2017 in the North American Cup . At the races in Calgary , they finished ninth. A day later at the second competition in Calgary, they finished ninth again. On November 24th, 2017 Nicole Rocha Silveira made her debut in the Bobsleigh World Cup and finished 18th with Heather Suzanne Paes at the World Cup in Whistler . After she completed two other competitions in the North American Cup with Nicole Rocha Silveira on November 28 and 29 and finished 13th and twelfth in the races in Park City , Nicole Rocha Silveira ended her career in bobsleigh after just one season.
Career as a skeleton pilot
For the 2018/19 season, she switched from bobsleigh to skeleton and made her debut on November 7, 2018 in the North American Skeleton Cup . In the race in Whistler , she finished 18th. A day later, in the second competition at the Whistler Sliding Center , she took 15th place. On November 19, 2018, she was able to occupy a top ten place in the North American Cup for the first time and finished the race in Park City in eighth place. The second race in Park City the following day she finished in ninth place. In the two competitions in Lake Placid , which were held on November 30 and December 1, she finished eighth and seventh respectively. At the end of the season, she finished sixth in the overall ranking of the North American Cup with 222 points. She also qualified for the first time for the Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Championships and finished 25th at the 2019 World Championships in Whistler.
After she missed the top ten places in the two races in Lake Placid at the start of the 2019/20 season in the North American Cup, she achieved a top five finish for the first time on December 9, 2019 in Park City . As fourth, she just missed the podium. After finishing seventh in Lake Placid on January 6th and 7th, 2020, she made her debut on January 23rd in the Skeleton Intercontinental Cup on the Mount Van Hoevenberg Olympic bobsleigh track , finishing seventh. In the competition one day later, she also took seventh place. At the end of the season she finished second in the overall standings of the North American Cup with 301 points behind Eunji Kim from South Korea and ahead of Mystique Ro . At the end of the season, he took part in the Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Championships for the second time and finished 24th at the Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Championships 2020 in Altenberg .
