The Tern Nunatak is a 265 m high nunatak on King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It rises about immediately east of Lussich Cove , a side bay of Admiralty Bay .
Participants in the Fifth French Antarctic Expedition (1908–1910) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot mapped it, but left it unnamed. The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey named it in 1949 after the Antipodean tern ( Sterna vittata , English Antarctic tern ) found here.
