Devil's Table (Igensdorf)

This devil's table is a mushroom rock that stands on the Eberhardsberg in the municipality of Igensdorf in the Bavarian district of Forchheim . It is a rock formation, the shape of which is reminiscent of a table. Numerous hiking trails lead to the rock and in times of the year without foliage you can look from up there in the direction of Weißenohe and Eckental .

According to legend, a monk from the neighboring Weißenohe monastery saw fire and sulfur on top of the mountain . When he got upstairs, he saw the devil sitting up there on the table and then had to play with him for his life.

The rock is designated as a natural monument (ND-04516).
