Texas Eagle (Amtrak)

The Texas Eagle is a long-distance train of the American railway company Amtrak with the train numbers 21/22. It operates the route Chicago - Los Angeles . It runs daily from Chicago to San Antonio and on to Los Angeles only on days when Amtrak train no. 1/2 Sunset Limited ( New Orleans - Los Angeles) operates. Superliner sleeping cars and coaches are available as equipment. The train also has a viewing car and a dining car. The train is pulled by one or two P42 locomotives. The travel time for the total distance of 4930 km is approximately 70 hours, with the stop in San Antonio for the direction of Los Angeles being approximately nine hours.
