The TextilWerk Bocholt is one of eight locations of the LWL industrial museum . It is located in two locations on the left and right of the Aa river in Bocholt , North Rhine-Westphalia .

In 1989 the weaving mill, a fully functional museum factory, was opened. The museum documents the work processes in a typical textile company from the period between 1900 and 1960. The core of the museum is a collection of over 30 looms of various types from 100 years of development history. The main part is the production hall with the shed roofs typical of historical textile factories . The museum complex also includes the boiler house , the machine house , workshop , office , warehouse , gate / porter's house, coach house, railroad track with steam storage locomotive and the workers' house with facilities typical of the time and a self-sufficient garden with small animal husbandry. In 2018 the permanent exhibition in the weaving mill was revised.

The products produced can be purchased in the museum shop, e.g. B. So-called "pit towels", waffle towels and half-linen tea towels with traditional patterns.

In 2004 the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe bought the four-storey brick building of the Herding spinning mill as the second part of its textile museum. The renovation began in 2009 with funds from the economic stimulus package II. Since the opening of the spinning mill in September 2011, the textile museum with its two locations has been operating as the “TextilWerk Bocholt”. In October 2016 the new exhibition area “The makers and the spinning mill” opened. The LWL Industrial Museum presents the history and work of textile entrepreneurs in Westphalia on two levels. The spectrum of the exhibits ranges from fountain pens to furniture and paintings to fashion from different decades and functional machines. On the ground floor of the spinning mill there is a "Parcours de la Mode": In a 23 meter long showcase, which is set up as a catwalk, historical clothing and shoes as well as textile sample books take visitors on a colorful journey through more than 100 years of fashion trends.

Special exhibitions on the history of fashion and the textile industry take place regularly. Special offers are aimed at school classes, children's groups and families. The "Schiffchen" restaurant with beer garden on the Aa and the glass "Skylounge" on the roof of the spinning mill are attached.
