Textile cleaners are busy washing , cleaning and processing a wide variety of textiles .

Textile cleaners sort laundry items by fabric, color and soiling. You decide how the respective textiles, leather and bed feathers should be treated. They clean chemically with suitable chemicals, with dry cleaning machines or manually. They iron the cleaned textiles and prepare them for the customer. If desired, they can also impregnate clothing.

When working in acceptance points, they also handle customer and sales advice and complaints. Textile cleaners are employed in private cleaning companies and in company departments or laundries of hotels, hospitals or prisons in laundries.

education

Germany

The training takes place in the dual training system in vocational schools and in appropriate companies. The training period is three years and is regulated in the Vocational Training Act ( BBiG ) and the Crafts Code ( HwO ).

Austria

Textile cleaners in Austria also complete a three-year apprenticeship in the form of a dual training . Apprentices conclude with the final examination , and can become the foreman further education. Passing the final apprenticeship examination also enables access to the vocational matura (vocational matriculation examination) and subsequently to further higher qualifications, e.g. B. at universities of applied sciences.
