Textile technology (apprenticeship)

Textile technology is a term used in Austria for a recognized occupation or apprenticeship that is assigned to the occupational field of textile technology .

Training and job description

The training duration of the textile technology apprenticeship is set up with an apprenticeship period of 3.5 years. Training takes place in the dual system in vocational school and training company. The acquisition of practical and theoretical knowledge and skills should enable the apprentices to carry out the following activities professionally, independently and independently:

  • Selecting, accepting, checking and storing the necessary materials,
  • Setting up, starting up, operating, monitoring and switching off or changing over the machines and systems for the production of line and flat products (e.g. spinning machines, weaving machines , knitting machines ) and for changing surface structures and product properties,
  • computer-aided monitoring and implementation of process controls and optimization as well as documentation of operating data,
  • Maintenance of company-specific machines and systems,
  • Optimize machines, systems and processes,
  • Carry out simple assembly and disassembly work on machines and systems.
