The Textulariida are an order of shell-bearing, sea-dwelling unicellular organisms from the group of foraminifera .

features

The types of order form agglutinated housings, i.e. housings made from collected particles that are anchored in low-magnesium calcite (<5 mol% Mg). The furrowed (= canaliculate) housings are initially trochospiral, three or two rows, later two or one rows.

The order has been fossilized since the Middle Jurassic ( Bajocium ). It currently includes a superfamily (family selection):
