The Thuringian Kröpfer is a breed of pigeons that emerged in Thuringia at the beginning of the 20th century . Ancestors were probably the "Medium-sized German Kropftaube", "Deutscher Weißkopf Kröpfer" and " Schlesischer Kröpfer " as well as colored pigeons .

The Thuringian Kröpfer is a medium-sized, upright pouter pigeon . Typical of the breed is the pointed cap with rear sight (parting of the cap and neck feathers), the pear-shaped blower mechanism and its elegant appearance. He is bred in a variety of colors throughout Germany, but also in other European countries, as well as in the USA.
