Thuringian whitehead
The Thuringian white head is a breed of domestic pigeon and is one of the Thuringian colored pigeons .
The Thuringian whitehead has a strong field pigeon shape with an almost horizontal posture. The feet are, in contrast to other Thuringian colored pigeons, which are mostly smooth-footed, belatscht.
The white, oblong head is eponymous and surrounded by a wide round hood. The broad chest protrudes a little. The back is broad in the area of the shoulders and only slopes slightly towards the back. The short legs of the pigeon are feathered. They wear long, thick pines ; the lower legs are covered with so-called vulture feathers.
Slippers and tail with tail cover and wedge are white. The cap and legs are kept in the basic color of the plumage.
The race of the Thuringian White heads is the Pfaff pigeons , Mäusern and the monk pigeons close. They were bred around 1800 around Ruhla and Schmalkalden .
