Thank God It's Christmas is a song by the British band Queen . It was written by Roger Taylor and Brian May and was released as a single on November 26, 1984.
Emergence
The 4:19 minute piece was produced by Queen and Mack in 1984 . The main voice sang Freddie Mercury , the backing vocals singing Mercury, May and Taylor.
According to Brian May, both he and Roger Taylor each had a song idea for a Queen's Christmas single this summer. Demo recordings were made of both titles - the band opted for the Thank God It's Christmas, which was mainly made by Taylor (Taylor / May are given as credit). The track I Dream of Christmas , composed by May, appeared in 1987 - produced by May and with John Deacon on bass - on Anita Dobson's album Talking of Love and as a single.
