The Aggrovators were a dub / reggae -Formation in the 1970s and 1980s, and a session - band of music producer Bunny Lee . The line-up varied, but Lee always kept the band name - regardless of the line-up. The band was named after the Agro Sounds record store Lee ran in the late 1960s. Many of the former band members later became well-known reggae musicians themselves. Well-known musicians like Jackie Mittoo , Sly and Robbie , Tommy McCook and Aston Barrett , were involved in the band one or more times. Others, however, like thatCarlton "Santa" Davis , Earl "Chinna" Smith , George "Fully" Fullwood , Ansel Collins , Bernard "Touter" Harvey , Tony Chin , Bobby Ellis and Vin Gordon were part of the permanent cast. The band recorded Lee's most popular works from the 1970s, with the instrumental B-sides of Lee's single releases on the record label Jackpot and Justice basically dedicated to the aggrovators, and mixed by King Tubby .
