The Castle

The Castle is a residential building in the Scottish village of Elie and Earlsferry in the Council Area Fife . In 1972 the building was included as an individual monument in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.

The Castle was built during the 17th century. The stair tower protruding from the south facade may come from an older building from the late 16th century. The apartment building is on South Street, not far from the port of Elie. The three-story building with a mansard floor has an L-shaped floor plan. Its facades are plastered with Harl . Shed roof hatches emerge from the slate roof. The dormers on the mansard floor are smaller. The gable of the gable roof is designed as a simple stepped gable .
