history

Prehistory (2003-2005)

In 2003 the friends Hans Edward Andreasen, Heini Mortensen, Hedin Egholm Skov and Edmund í Gardi founded a punk band called "Zink" in Tórshavn . Hedin left the band in 2004 and was replaced by Eirikur Gilston Corfitz Andersen. That year they released an album called Total Love Songs in Faroese and English. The band remained active until Edmund í Gardi left in late 2004. The remaining band members decided to continue under the new name The Dreams . Heini Mortensen and Hans Edward Andreasen moved to Denmark in 2005 , in 2006 Hans Eduard and Eirikur followed to Copenhagen in order to find better conditions for their musical development.

Tazy (2006-2007)

By submitting one of their songs, the band was selected from thousands of applicants to travel to MTV Europe in London . The Dreams took third place in the competition there . Between June and July 2006, the band recorded the punk rock - cover album Tazy on a compilation of the most popular songs of the Faroe Islands. In November, The Dreams took part in the Global Battle of the Bands in Copenhagen and also achieved third place here. They got to know their future producer Lars Pedersen under the judges.

In 2007, Eirikur's younger brother, Corfitz, became a new member of the band. He previously had a Faroese pop-rock band called Paradox , with whom he had also released an album in English called Falling In Love .

Den Nye By (2008-2009)

In February 2008 the band released their Danish debut album Den Nye By and their first music video La 'mig være . In the same month The Dreams started in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix competition to represent their country in the Eurovision and reached fourth place with La 'mig være . They were the first Faroese band in this competition.

The year 2009 was then characterized by concerts all over Denmark and the Faroe Islands, for which the live album Den Nye By 09 / Sakin Live was released in March . In advance of a new album, Under The Sun was released with a video on October 11th and the song quickly conquered the radio and television programs of Denmark. At an appearance at the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference, they already played three songs from their upcoming album.

Revolt (since 2010)

In February 2010 the band released their second album in English called Revolt in Denmark . A music video was shot for the song of the same name and The Optimist was released as the third single on the album . Accompanied by live performances in Germany, the album was released in the summer of the same year by ferryhouse for the local audience.
