The Flood is a German electronic music project.

history

The Flood was founded in 1995 by Markus Hof, Erich Singula, Florian Eckert, Martin Kubetz and Klaus Freisinger as a progressive rock band. After initial success and the CD High Above , the original project slowly fell asleep, not least due to the departure of two band members. At the turn of the millennium, the style changed to electro rock, mainly due to the collaboration between the still active founder Markus Hof and guitarist Tom Haubner. After a long creative break, Markus Hof reactivated The Flood in 2011, changed the style to Dark Electro-Pop / Future Pop and single-handedly recorded the EP Something in the Way , which received consistently good reviews in the specialist press. In the middle of 2012 Thomas Haubner came back to perform live at some concerts. In 2013 The Flood was signed by Danse Macabre Records. In October 2013 the CD "In Love Or Despair" was released, which was created in collaboration with Manuel G. Richter. This album was at number 10 in the DAC (German Alternative Charts) and in the European Alternative Charts for several weeks in 2013 and 2014 (highest position: 2 in January 2014).

music

Markus Hof puts elements of Dark Wave , Electropop and Progressive Rock as well as modern beats in a tense relationship with emotional singing and heavy melody.
