The Hoppers are an American gospel band from North Carolina .
biography
In the 1970s, the Hoppers began making music as a family. Claude Hopper and his wife Connie were at the beginning, younger members have since renewed the band again and again like the sons Mike and Dean and his wife Kim Greene.
The Hoppers made their first big appearance in 1981 at the inauguration ceremony of US President Ronald Reagan . In the following two years they were recognized as the best mixed vocal group at the Southern Gospel Music Awards.
In the 1990s the band had numerous gospel hits from Here I Am to Shoutin 'Time, and into the 2000s they won numerous other gospel awards. They were also frequently represented on the Gaither Homecoming Tour organized by gospel icon Bill Gaither .
Despite numerous album releases, the Hoppers have only been featured on the Billboard 200 so far : 2010 with a best-of album of the Gaither Homecoming appearances.
