The Hullaballoos
The Hullaballoos were a Beat - rock band from the British Hull . They were best known in the United States at the time of the British invasion in the first half of the 1960s . Musically they combined the style of Buddy Holly with Merseybeat .
Band history
Hugo Peretti and Luigi Creatore , the artistic directors of Roulette Records , supervised their careers in the USA . They made sure that they appeared in various television shows, but especially in the (coincidentally!) Almost eponymous show Hullaballoo .
They had two smaller hits in the US in 1965 with "I'm Gonna Love You Too" , a cover version of the Buddy Holly song, and with "Did You Ever" . The band members' trademark was dyed straw blonde, (for the time) long hair. After three long-playing records , the band broke up.
