The Incredible Machine

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Incredible Machine is a series of computer games developed by Kevin Ryan and Jeff Tunnell and worked for the developer Dynamix . The games were distributed by Sierra Entertainment . In Germany, the game appeared under the name of Professor Tim's crazy workshop .

The aim of the games is always to build machines with the help of various utensils, each of which is supposed to perform a specific task. In addition to technical components such as gear wheels and conveyor belts, household and leisure items as well as some animals are available as utensils. At the beginning of each puzzle, some components of the machine are already placed and thus specified. All other components must be used by the player in such a way that an - often complicated - chain reaction arises, at the end of which the mostly simple task is solved. The machines built are therefore so-called Rube-Goldberg machines .

The games each offer a number of different such puzzles, divided into several levels of difficulty. There is also a mode for two players and the possibility of building your own machines that can be put in front of other players to solve, for example.
