The International Committee for the Conservation of the Industrial Heritage

The International Committee for the Conservation of the Industrial Heritage ( TICCIH ) is an international monument protection organization that deals specifically with the promotion, preservation, research and documentation of all types of important industrial monuments . The organization, founded in 1973, has been the official advisor to UNESCO since 2000 when it comes to the selection of world heritage sites in this area. TICCIH is based in Truro , United Kingdom.

President of TICCIH has been Professor of Industrial Archeology Patrick Martin from Michigan Technological University since 2009 . Organizationally, the TICCIH is divided into thematic departments: agriculture and food production, bridges, communication, hydropower and electrochemical industry, metallurgy, mining and collieries, mints, paper industry, polar region, railways, textile industry and water. It has representatives in around 40 countries.

In 2003, the Assembly of Delegates of TICCIH adopted in the Russian city of Nizhny Tagil , the Charter for the Industrial Heritage (English: The Nizhny Tagil Charter for the Industrial Heritage).
